Hi, my name is Barb, and I've been a photographer for over 30 years. I love to photograph cities, nature, birds, objects, patterns, old rusty things, and anything interesting, especially outside. I would live outdoors, if not for pesky insects and the occasional tornado here in the Midwest...

My style is fairly eclectic; you might find photos of cars, tractors, or machinery next to images of hand blown glass, old bridges, brightly colored anything, birds, insects, and trees! I had a darkroom for many years, where I developed and printed my own black and white photos; I hope to have a darkroom again in the next few years, but for now, digital cameras are working for me. I still love black and white photography, so you'll find some of those as well. With digital photos, I really hate the editing process; I'd much rather be outside taking photos. One principle I follow is that I don't edit my photos beyond what I could have done in the darkroom, so edits are usually minor adjustments to better reflect the actual subject as I saw it. Occasionally, however, I play around with color changes, which were fun to do in the darkroom using Koolaid packets.

After working in another field for the past ten years, I'm starting to focus on my photography again. If you're interested in purchasing photos, most images are available as high-resolution JPG or PNG images for $50, which grants you permission for personal use. You can message me with me the image name you want, and I'll contact you discuss details.

Thanks for taking the time to read a bit about me. Check back frequently, because I will have rotating images in each gallery, because I know I hate to have too many choices to look through, so if you're looking for a photo of a particular subject, let me know: I might have one or be inclined to go out and make one!

Happy 2024!
